Sleep? What, Sleep?

If you haven’t heard us talk about this, you probably haven’t spent enough time at redpepper. CreateAthon is our annual, 24-hour creative blitz during which we work nonstop (and nonpay) for some very deserving local charities. And in 2013, we did it for the seventh year in a row.

CreateAthon Results

Just like the individuals and families they serve, each non-profit has its own needs. Last year, we poured our hearts and hard work into branding, brochures, websites, and yep — even videos — for three deserving organizations. Here’s what we made in the shortest 24 hours of our lives (until next year, of course).

Nashville Children’s Theatre

This professional theater company provides children, families and educators of Middle Tennessee with extraordinary shared theatrical experiences that inspire imagination, develop creativity and build community. Naturally, as big fans of the arts we were honored to help this crew. We were reminded the importance of instilling confidence and creativity into every child, and learned that doing so achieves more than we could have imagined. We helped The Children’s Theatre share this message with the world through a beautiful video, shiny new brochure and updated website design. Take a bow, team NCT.

Best Buddies

Children with disabilities might have very few friends, if any, which is why Best Buddies exists. Best Buddies pairs non-disabled people with disabled people (those with Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, etc.) forming bonds of friendship and support that otherwise might have never happened. The video and posters below are a testament to the strength of these friendships. We also created an app where friends’ photos, videos and Tweets with certain hash tags are curated into one, single feed so that every Best Buddy in the country can share in the good times. Speaking of memory making, we’ll never forget the inspiring folks we met that day and how much fun we all had working together.

Kingdom Kids

Kingdom Kids grants wishes for Atlanta-area children battling challenging circumstances, mostly terminal illness. They bring dreams of all shapes and sizes to life—from birthdays at the Aquarium to Disney trips for the whole family. This year, it was our turn to cross a few items off their wish list, starting with a stop-motion video created using over 1,000 photographs. We also wrapped up a branding refresh, new fundraising materials and a rock-solid social media plan made to help them impress supporters just like they impressed us.
